Lions & Tigers & Bears Underbear Party
Lions and Tiger and Bears, OH MY
Start your ChillOut Festival 2017 weekend with a bang as VicBears takes its famous Underwear Party on the road for our first ever ChillOut Festival event – Lions & Tigers & Bears!
The Old Hepburn Hotel will take you from Kansas right through to OZ with three indoor and outdoor spaces to enjoy through the night. There’s Aunty Em’s backyard where you can sit under the stars, enjoy a drink, listen to some tunes and chat with buddies. From there though the choice is yours as the yellow brick road goes in two directions – but which way to go? Left takes you to the Haunted Forest, an indoor chill area away from the crowd. Right takes you indoors to the Wizards Throne room where DJ David Virgona will have you dancing so hard you’ll be glad you’re only wearing underwear.
There’ll be drink specials on the night and some extra surprises we can’t mention yet but don’t be like scarecrow – you all know that VicBears Underwear parties sell out quickly so grab you tickets now.
VicBears members – $20
Non – members $25
At the door $30
This is a male only event but, the Old Hepburn Hotel hasn’t forgotten the gals and has some great events over the ChillOut weekend for the ladies and their buddies. Be sure to check out their FB and website for details. Also if youre looking for something to do before the event Dean Arcuri is hosting a few rounds of the cheekeist trivia show in town (Trivial Hirsute) and the hotel will also be serving dinner till 8.00pm. You can see thier delicious menu here
Male only Event. Male underwear only. Appropriate footwear must be worn at all times.
Do you need a pipe routed? Or maybe your bush pruned?
Be sure to join us as we celebrate ‘Working Men’, their tools and their trades. See the Laird transformed into a vertual construction site. Wear your overalls, your short shorts, steel caps and high-viz.
Prepare for hard yakka and sweat to the beats hammered out by DJ David Virgoan.
But be sure not to cut the neighbours grass!
Our events are not possible without the continued support from Hampstead Dental, Victorian AIDS Council and The Laird.
VicBears is proud to be working with Switchboard Victoria this year as our designated charity.
A BearHart initiative, Aquasplash is a great way to enjoy the bump and grind of excersise in the extremely low impact way of water aerobics to the sounds of disco tunes and the dulcit tones of our instructor, Judy.
Class starts at 2pm and finishes at 3pm. Payment to a designated committee member of $10 after the Splash and then on to a cafe in Clifton Hill, a short group walk or drive away.
It’s fun, it’s exciting and and the change rooms are a must.
Please note this is not a sex on site venue, appropriate swimwear a must, bring a towel and a willingness to participate. You don’t have to be good at it, you only have to be good enough to try.

VicBears 2017 Website
Welcome to the all new VicBears website for 2017. We aim for this site to be your go to reference for events, news about the club, memberships.
Since its creation in 1996, VicBears has been a social club for same-sex attracted, masculine and down-to-earth men of all shapes, sizes and ages in Melbourne & Victoria.
VicBears holds regular social gatherings on the 4th Saturday of every month at the Laird Hotel in Abbotsford and a number of non-bar events throughout the year including bowling, laser-tag, karaoke, pool parties, weekend getaways and relaxed Sunday lunches.
The highlight of the VicBears calendar is Southern HiBearnation: a week long party in June that draws Bears from all over Australia, New Zealand and beyond.
To provide opportunities for men who identify as bears to meet and enjoy themselves. [blockquote]VicBears defines ‘Bear’ as a gay man with a ‘masculine, down-to-earth attitude’ – not as a particular body type or ‘look’.[/blockquote]The original ideal of the Bear movement was to be inclusive and to embrace men of all body types, and VicBears upholds that ideal.
To promote an awareness and an attitude of acceptance within the GLBTI community and the general community to our lifestyles and our contributions to the community.
To preserve the history, culture and traditions of VicBears, and the Australian Bear community.
