Boxing Day Bears returns to give you that feel-good-feeling in your stomach and replace that “I ate too much at Christmas feeling”.
In the tradition of previous boxing days, VicBears and The Laird will be hosting a charitable event, helping those who may need a bit of support over the holiday period. Boxing Day Bears benefits The Pantry at Positive Living Centre and David Williams Fund. And we make it easy for you to do your bit, just choose one of the following two options!
1. Do it yourself: While you’re out shopping for yourself before Christmas, grab some canned or packaged long-life items and bring them in on the day – these items will be delivered to PLC that week which is one of the highest demand times for The Pantry service.
2. Tap On: Simply choose the amount you’d like to give. in terms of what that represents to someone in need, you could, choose a ‘Meal for One’ by donating $10, bump it up to a ‘Basics Basket’ for $20 or go the ‘Whole Turkey’ and donate $50.
The Pantry service provides low cost nutritious food items including packaged goods, fruit and vegetables. It is available each day the centre is open. The pantry can be accessed fortnightly in the form of packages, which will be pre-prepared.
All donations will receive a sweet treat from Father XXXMas and go in the draw for some great raffle prizes. From 6pm DJ David Virgona hits the decks and VicBears fire up the BBQ (gold coin/tap donation), plus you can learn all about BearFest 2026!
