Held in January during the VicBears annual BearFest festival, the Mr VicBears competition is our local bears chance to vie for the title of Mr VicBears. Open to male and male identifying VicBears members (aged 18 and over) that reside in Victoria, the competition puts the competitors through their paces as they showcase their Charisma, Originality, Courage, and Knowledge over three rounds, Bear Wear, Bear Minimum and Bear Fantasy OR Talent. A panel of four judges evaluate the competitors based on the five C's: Confidence, Communication, Community, Creativity, and Commitment to Bear Ideals. The competition is held at our home den, the Laird Hotel with the competition also live-streamed, enabling the public to vote via a QR code. The winner of the Mr VicBears title not only earns local recognition but also represents VicBears at various local and national events as well as competing in the Mr Australasia Bear competition held during Southern HiBearnation. The winner is also supported by VicBears throughout the year as they raise funds for their chosen charity.
