VicBears membership is available to any male or male-identifying person 18 years of age or over who supports the purposes of the Association. Membership fees ensure VicBears can continue to offer accessible and affordable events and benefits for our members.

Further Information on Membership Types

All VicBears memberships details are explained below, including the requirements of the different membership types and the benefits you can enjoy.

  • You must be a male or male-identifying person 18 years of age or over who supports the purposes of the Association.
  • You must have a current residential address in the state of Victoria, Australia.
  • When signing up for this membership type, you will be asked to provide the details of a single individual to which the membership is granted.

  • An Individual Member will gain access to all member benefits – Membership keyring, Access to 100+ events, Discounted premium events, Monthly Buzz newsletter, Free drink &  BBQ at Den Nights.

  • An Individual Member may vote at general meetings and may have other rights as determined by the Committee or by resolution at a general meeting.

Sign Up for an individual membership
  • You must both be male or male-identifying persons 18 years of age or over who support the purposes of the Association.
  • You must have a current residential address in the state of Victoria, Australia.
  • When signing up for this membership type, you will be asked to provide the details of two individuals to which VicBears membership is granted.

  • Both members of a Couple Membership will gain access to all member benefits – Membership keyring, Access to 100+ events, Discounted premium events, Monthly Buzz newsletter, Free drink &  BBQ at Den Nights.

  • Both members of a Couple Membership may vote at general meetings and may have other rights as determined by the Committee or by resolution at a general meeting.

  • You must be a male or male-identifying person 18 years of age or over who supports the purposes of the Association.
  • You must have a current residential address outside the state of Victoria, Australia – this includes interstate and international individuals.
  • When signing up for this membership type, you will be asked to provide the details of a single individual to which the membership is granted.

  • An Associate Member will gain access to all member benefits – Membership keyring, Access to 100+ events, Discounted premium events, Monthly Buzz newsletter, Free drink &  BBQ at Den Nights.

  • An Associate Member may not vote at general meetings but may have other rights as determined by the Committee or by resolution at a general meeting.

  • A discount has been applied to this membership type due to your current residential address outside the state of Victoria, Australia. This means you will not be able to fully enjoy the full membership benefits each month.

Sign Up for an associate membership
  • You must be a male or male-identifying person 18 years of age or over who supports the purposes of the Association.
  • You must have a current residential address in Australia.
  • When signing up for this membership type, you will be asked to provide the details of a single individual to which the membership is granted.

  • When signing up for this membership type, your membership will be placed in Pending status until a valid concession card is presented to a VicBears committee member. This can be done when collecting your VicBears membership keyring in person at the monthly VicBears Union event at The Laird.

  • A Concession Member will gain access to all member benefits – Membership keyring, Access to 100+ events, Discounted premium events, Monthly Buzz newsletter, Free drink &  BBQ at Den Nights.

  • A Concession Member may vote at general meetings only if they have a residential address within Victoria, Australia. They may have other rights as determined by the Committee or by resolution at a general meeting.

  • A discount has been applied to this membership type due to your current valid concession card.

Sign Up for a concession membership
  • You must be a male or male-identifying person 18 years of age or over who supports the purposes of the Association.
  • You may have a current residential address anywhere in the world.
  • This membership type is not purchased, but awarded to a current member of any other category of membership based on exceptional or distinguished service or support given to the Association. Any member may be nominated to the VicBears Committee for awarding of Life Membership in accordance with the current Rules of Association.

  • A Life Member is exempt from annual membership fees.

  • A Life Member holds the same obligations, rights and privileges as ordinary members so long as they reside in the state of Victoria, Australia.

  • Should a Life Member become domiciled outside the state of Victoria, they shall hold the rights and responsibilities equal to that of associate members.

  • A Foundation Member is a person who was admitted to membership in the first 12 months of the incorporation of the association.
  • This is a closed category.
  • A Foundation Member who leaves the association for any period of time and is subsequently readmitted shall be eligible to be reinstated as a foundation member.

  • A Foundation Member is not exempt from annual membership fees (unless they have been awarded Life Membership) and must remain financial should they wish to enjoy the privileges of membership.

  • A Foundation Member hold the same obligations, rights and privileges as Individual Members so long as they reside in the state of Victoria, Australia.

  • Should a Foundation Member become domiciled outside the state of Victoria, they shall hold the rights and responsibilities equal to that of Associate Member.

Membership Conduct

It is a condition of ongoing membership that all members, regardless of membership type, conduct themselves in accordance with the VicBears Rules of Association and this code of conduct.

  • Behave honestly and with integrity.
  • Act with care and diligence.
  • Treat everyone with respect and courtesy and without harassment of any kind.

  • Comply with all applicable Australian laws.

  • Not provide false or misleading information in response to a request for information that is made for official VicBears purposes.

  • Comply with any lawful and reasonable direction given by someone in the VicBears Committee who has the authority to give the direction.

  • Maintain appropriate confidentiality.

  • Disclose and take reasonable steps to avoid any conflict of interest (real or apparent) in the course of their membership.

  • Use VicBears and sponsorship resources in a proper manner.

  • Not make improper use of inside information, or their duties, status, power or authority in order to gain, or seek to gain, a benefit or advantage for themselves or any other person.

  • At all times behave in a way that upholds the integrity and good reputation of the VicBears Incorporated Association.

  • While on volunteer duties, behave at all times in a way that upholds the good reputation of the VicBears Incorporated Association.
